Dear Students,

   In today's class, there was a request to post the lecture slides online. Of course I had considered this 
before the class started, but experience tells us that students tend not to come to class when the notes are 
posted online. Anyhow, I agreed to a trial run for 2 weeks, starting today (see "Schedule" page). However, if 
attendance drops off, I will certainly not continue to post them.

Moreover, if attendance does not pick up by this Wed, I will be forced to resort to unpleasant weekly or 
bi-weekly quizzes. I'd prefer not to do this, but it may be the only way to make class attendance a priority.

Please note that I will usually post the slides AFTER the class, because 
 (a) I don't always know how far I'll get in class
 (b) As this is the first time teaching this class, I sometimes do not have them ready to post far enough in advance for you 
to print them off & bring them to class.

Secondly, I am posting Exam 1 grades by SUID number on the web site. (The numbers follow in order of your last name)
I hope to pass back the exams on Wed.
