ATOMIC SPECTROSCOPY

1948: On the Configurations d2sp, d3p, and d7p. Physical Review 74, 1372 – 1380.

One of the first applications of Racah’s method for tensor operators. It is applied to H.N. Russell’s observations of the Ti I spectrum of the sun in the paper following the above.

1959: Theoretical Multiplet Strengths. Astrophysical Journal 129, 441- 448. Sum Rules for Multiplet Strengths. Astrophysical Journal 129, 449 – 455.

The extensive numerical tables for multiplet strengths existing in the literature at that time can be corrected and generalized by means of algebraic expressions. They permit the easy derivation of sum rules.

There are over a dozen other publications in Atomic Spectroscopy.
