MISCELLENEOUS PHYSICS

1963: The Principle of Equivalence. Annals of Physics 22, 169-191.

The metrics describing static homogeneous gravitational fields of general relativity are specified. This permits an easy discussion of the equivalence principle including the free fall of a charge and its concomitant radiation (or lack of it) depending on the reference fame of the charge and of the observer.

1966: True and Apparent Transformations, Classical Electrons and Relativistic Thermodynamics. Nuovo Cimento 45, 76-83.

Different transformations of volumes of integration are applied to extended charges as well as to thermodynamics. The paper includes a discussion of the possible relativistic transformations of temperature.

2002: Causality, the Coulomb field, and Newton’s law of Gravitation. American Journal of Physics. American Journal of Physics 70, 411-414.

Despite appearances, both the Coulomb field and the gravitational field are causal (retarded) rather than action-at-a-distance fields.

There are more than a dozen other papers on miscellaneous topics.
