This is the home page for the mini Global Alignment Workshop. The workshop will be held at Cambridge from the afternoon of January 12th thru the morning of January 13th.

It will follow the UK Tutorial Software Meeting.

The workshop is aimed at discussing issues related to the global alignment of the LHCb detector. In addition to reviewing the status of the internal alignment of the various sub-detectors, we will discuss how the sub-detectors will rely on one another to achieve a robust global alignment. Some issues which should be addressed are:

1) What are the physics requirements on the internal and global alignment?

2) What precision can achieved from the internal alignment

3)  Inclusion of alignment constants at L1?

4) Should the global coordinate system be fixed or should it track the beam?

5) What are the implications on software if the z axis of the global coordinate system and the beam axis are not the same?

6) Do we really need B=0 data for the global alignment? If so, how often?

7) What are the practical constraints?
