"oamhn?e" has four possible anagrams, using the blank as a "b," "g," "l," or "r." The blank as an "l" gives "manhole," and the blank as an "r" gives "menorah." The blank as a "b" gives "hambone," a term used in vaudeville for a performer made up in blackface and using a stereotyped black dialect.
I can hear you objecting now to "hogmane," obtained by using the blank as a "g". "But wait," you say, "as we all know, Hogmane, the Scottish New Year's Eve celebration more commonly spelled Hogmanay," is capitalized, and so not an acceptable Scrabble word!" Ah, yes, but you forget that gifts given on Hogmane are called hogmane, and hogmane the gift is in not capitalized. Interestingly, I find that when I Google "hogmane", four of the six top hits are pages claiming that "hogmane" is indeed a valid word.
Actually, upon further reflection, I realize that that's not interesting at all.
